i didnt use the common app one, but there’s a form that you can ask the dean of your school to fill out when you click more information. it just checks if you have any academic or disciplinary issues on your record i think.
i feel like you can definitely try to write an essay to appeal! it never hurts to try.

I read from previous years that each wave is a small batch of people. Apparently there’ll be one tomorrow so fingers crossed
hopefully 
last year someone said that the first wave started at 4pm on 4/14, and then more people got decisions the next day, and the following waves were said to be in the morning (9), afternoon (2) and evening (4-5)

I think it all depends on when each one applied. My son applied on the deadline date.
