Why do you like BU the best? Why did you choose BU over all the other colleges?

Let me take a short stab at this. Exclude Harvard & MIT because if you get in one of them you go there. Probably exclude Tufts as well for liberal arts, but BU has some programs that Tufts doesn’t. The answer then becomes: BU has some very good programs (meaning colleges), is in a great location and is a very good school overall.

You should always look at schools and try to find one that fits your needs. To compare BU and Brandeis, for example, head to head is kind of silly because the latter is a suburban school.

BU wasn’t my first choice, but, I am glad I did pick it because otherwise I would not be in the program that I am in now. BU’s Sargent College is really amazing for kids that want to go into health sciences and is probably one of the only schools that offers Human Physiology as a major. All together, BU is a strong science-school, and for me that’s mainly what did it. Not to mention being in the heart of the city…

I also visited BC, and I didn’t like it at all. Not only was it lacking in diversity, it also didn’t offer as many majors/programs in the sciences. Overall, it just doesn’t offer as many programs and it isn’t as much of a science-oriented school. Don’t get me wrong, BC is a great school…but it’s just very different from BU.

even comparing BU with Emerson and Suffolk is kinda rough. All 3 are in the heart of the city, more or less, but theyr’e so so different. Emerson definitely has more of a hipster vibe, though BU has it’s fair share. To be honest I think BU offers the most opportunities to its students…for internships, research, community service, etc etc.
