Boston University vs. Boston College : Help

So I've been accepted to both these schools and I am having a tough time choosing between the two.

BU gave me a 43K scholarship with no loans.

Boston College gave me 25k without any loans

My goal is to go on to Medical School so I plan on taking pre-med courses and majoring in something related to these goals.

I don't know how much my family can pay or is willing to pay for Boston College. I've talked to my dad and he is all for BU. My mother is for BC and my oldest brother is for BC. The camp is divided and there has been some heated debates.

The question is would paying extra for the education at BC be worth it coming to med school applications?

BC is nationally ranked higher, more prestigious, has a higher undergrad med school acceptance rate, smaller classrooms, etc. internships, or research

Would going in debt in the hinder me in the future and actually limit financial investments?

BU is a larger school, lots of money for research, good study abroad, more diverse, in the city, practically free, well respected. i would still be paying for dorms.

BC is 57K a year. ( estimated)
-25k scholarship it would be 32k a year.

32k x4 years = 128k investment

For BU ( estimated)
$59,100 -43 Scholarship- 16k a year
16k times 4= 64k

That, right there, is what you need to know. None of us can provide that answer for you. Go talk to your parents.

Either place will be just fine for medical school admissions.

Save the money for med school and go to BU.

Just be prepared for alleged grade deflation.

Isn’t it a bit late to be making this decision or did you double deposit at both schools?

If you’re not of a Jesuit background or you’re not a “jock” you may feel out of place at BC. BU is an excellent school for pre-med, has beautiful facilities, is in a better neighborhood, and has far more diversity than BC. If you go there, you’ll meet my son!

Won’t even bother commenting on your misrepresentation of Boston College. I’d also like you to elaborate on what you mean by “better neighborhood.”

Also, good job on addressing a topic that was basically a month old and now far past the decision deadline.
