Boston University vs. George Washington University

So, first time posting. I decided to post because I need help making one of the hardest decisions I have ever wanted to make.

I got into both BU (CAS) and GWU (Elliot), and am having a really hard time choosing between the two. I want to do international relations and pre-med. Now I know GWU is known for it's international relations and has a really good program for it. That's why my mind is telling me to pick GW.

But at the same time, my heart is telling me to pick BU. When I went to the admitted students open house, I really felt at home on that campus. I could see myself there really easily. When I visited GW, I liked it, but I didn't get that same feeling.

So this is where I need help. Am I supposed to go with my mind or my heart? And I know how cliche that sounds, but that's the situation I'm in.

Hard to pass up GWU for IR. College is about getting an education which is mostly about the mind. There must have been something about GWU that made you want to apply there so it’s unlikely you’ll be unhappy even if BU made you feel more warm and fuzzy on your visit. First impressions aren’t everything, either. GWU lacks a defined campus and maybe that’s what you didn’t like, but the students and classes might end up being a better fit and it’s hard to tell from one visit if you will click with the students.

Bumpppppppp.

Run the financials through this, and see if there is a meaningful difference: [FinAid | Calculators | Award Letter Comparison Tool](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Award Letter Requirements - Finaid)

You also should ask yourself which of these has a better program for any alternate majors that you are considering. If you choose GW, but change majors, will you be miserable there?

GWU for international relations and pre-med.
