Boston University vs University of Michigan

I've been accepted to the School of Management and to LSA, but if go to U of M I intend to apply to Ross during my freshman year. Which is the best choice for someone who wants to major in business? Michigan seems to be ranked better than BU, but I really like the city of Boston and I'm not sure how much importance I should give to rankings or reputation. Can somebody please help me?

I like New York much better than New Haven. I’m still going to go to Yale instead of NYU if given the choice.

Well, getting into Ross is no guarantee after your freshman year at U of Michigan and competition the competition to get into the program has gotten very intense. Have you been directly admitted to BU’s business school? Perhaps you can enroll in BU’s business school and then apply to Ross after your freshman year at BU.

Ross is a mandatory 3-year program. Admission rate for entering sophomore BBA class is around 38%; 1% of which are transfers. You can decide which one is better.

OTOH, BU is in the heart of Boston. You might not want to leave after a year.
