Hi, which school is more popular among international students? BU or Rochester? Also, which school provides better financial aid?

What are your overall opinions for these two schools?

buuuummmmmmpppp bump

No repliesss?? Please I really need some response…

BU is more popular with international students it ranks higher in the international reputation index by QS rankings #79

University of Rochester = #151

Both have very large populations of international students and are good schools. They have very different atmospheres though. Rochester is smaller and despite being in a city, has a definite campus with grass. Whereas BU is larger and right next to Fenway Park, and you might pass a few homeless people on your way to class. Also, the academics are set up differently.

I may be a bit biased but I definitely think Rochester is the better school, but it really depends on the person and what you want to major in. Because Rochester is a lot smaller, it’s easier to take advantages of things like research opportunities, and all students that want to can do undergraduate research. Also, Rochester is also a really interesting city with some cool history related to U of R, involving people like George Eastman, Joseph Wilson, Susan B. Anthony, and Frederick Douglass.

Rochester is a fabulous place, my Sister went to RIT and now works for Google! That said, the OP wants to know which is most recognized internationally, globally everyone knows Baston ( like DC and NYC) Rochester, good program or not does not have the name recognition.

Non-us companies and non us residents (especially Asian countries) are VERY concerned about reputation and “name-Brands” this comes from cultures where only the connected or truly successful come from “top” schools. In their countries unless you go to one of these schools you will never succeed. Unlike in the US where we have a grand history of being able to be a success REGARDLESS of family, education and schooling, many of these cultures will not even give you a shot unless you are “connected” in some way. This is why a meritocracy like the US is and will always be the greatest country on earth.
