Boston University Workload

Hello,

BU is my first choice school and while I began to select universities, I wanted to make sure that these schools had a decent workload but at the same time not to the point that I would be studying all hours of the night in exception to finals. I just want to make sure that the work load isnt TOO incredibly overwhelming since I’m only about a 3.5 gpa student. Sometimes that whole cut throat thing at more competitive schools such as Stanford or Yale etc etc. is just too much for me. I’m interested in the School of Management and how the workload is there. Hope you guys can help!
Thanks for your time.

I don't find the workload here to be too taxing.Especially if you can budget your time. A few hours of reading a night, if that...studying for exams being the exception. But I know some students who throw their whole life into studying...so really it's your choice. SMG students do have a significant amount of group work, so keep in mind that you can't get away from that. Junior year you'll have an intense workload as part of the CORE program. I wouldn't worry about the cut throat atmosphere either...BU students are generally more than happy to help each other out.

The workload varies totally by your area of study and your desires. Engineers work hard everywhere. This is true everywhere. If you take classes that require a lot, you'll work more ... and an oddity of college is that fine arts classes often require the most work (and the kids at RISD have one of the highest workloads).

The workload at a place like Yale, btw, is not more.

Oh how interesting. That reassures me alot more hahah. I guess its just like high school all over again eh? :P
Junior year always seems to be the toughest but I guess you don't get anywhere without hard work!
Thanks alot you guys!
