I'd probaly major in engineering or pre-med at BU. I've got into maryland (spring semester), rutgers, and I am waiting on Wake Forest (Deferred Early), and TCNJ.

Assuming i get into BU CAS, do you think its worth 50k? is the quality of education good because it seems overrated since it isnt ranked that highly

uh…no. Not remotely. Take some of your required CORE classes and get them out of the way in the fall at your local CC (especially math) and then go to UMD in the Spring!!! (I’m biased…older D is there, and it looks like her sis will be, too).

BU was one of the schools that D looked at. She was admitted at Williams, UNC-CH, BU, and UMD. She chose UMD and has always felt that she could not have made a better decision. BU, with their minimal merit award money, was eliminated immediately…not remotely worth it in our opinion. Did some heavy duty thinking about Williams, but UMD was the right choice for her. It’s strong in both engineering and pre-med. Had MIT accepted her, we would probably have coughed up the money. And then would currently be in total panic mode, with the current economy and our shrunken savings…

Your education at BU is what you make of it. If you want to go there, if you feel like that is the school that you will flourish in and you have the money: go. It’s that simple.
I don’t see how you can put a price on education.
