Everyone who got in: BU SMED | Facebook
facebook group!

how'd you guys find out? mail or email? i applied to bu/umdnj, but i just had my umdnj interview on the 25th, so i probably wouldn't know by now, right?

k i joined the facebook group.

unique123, there's not much prep i guess. i just studied for the SAT and thought about my essay/app questions. i think having strong extracurriculars helped. my stats weren't that great but here they are:

no GPA or rank but avg. is 94%
SAT (superscored): 690 reading, 730 writing, 740 math
SAT II: 710 chem, 690 math II
APs: english lang/comp (5), english lit, calc, bio, chem

cookiedg4:

what were your amazing extracurriculars?

Urban Dictionary: smed

Guys look what I've found on urban dictionary!:
SMED:
1) short for seven-year medical students at Boston University who tend to be very horny because they study too much
2) sexually mutated exotic dancers
3) a mostly indian group of people

Yash: "I'm so glad the I'm a smed."
Achal: "Yeh we don't have to apply to med school. What do you think Ryan?"
Ryan: "I'm so horny."

Ahahahahahahahah i laughed so hard. this makes zero sense, but the hilarity!

BU Med School is making news for all the wrong reasons lately

According to this thread, applicants got calls from BU at this time last year. Anyone have any news on the 2010 applicants or how many are selected for interview/accepted?

Not sure how many interviewees there are, but interviews are scheduled from this week to the end of February, if that helps.

Are there any reported interviews from BU so far?

yeah. a few if i recall. i know i got one…rest should be posted on the interview thread

I had my interview this week at Boston

how’d it go?
do you recall any particularly difficult questions?
thanks & gluck!

D had interview last week. Any one knows the timelines from now for acceptance/rejections? i only knew no news is bad news, but when do students hear anything if accepted? Thanks.

My D got accepted into BU SMED program last year. She got the online decision in the last week of March for both regular program as well as 7 year program on the same day. However, she is attending Pitt now for Guaranteed Admit program.

Gee thanks. Wow. PITT BSMD is impossible unless u r in-state-- they take 5 a year 00S !

Sorry, but i meant UConn instead. Dunno about Pitt, but their transplant program is world famous

Dofbsmdapp, UConn accepts ~10 people (maybe more in recent years, but not significantly more) into CPiM a year. I don’t think they ‘reserve’ half of those spots for OOS or IS. The idea of UConn giving out 5 OOS CPiM interviews a year is a bit more believable (they give out 20-25 interviews), but I don’t even know about that.

Still haven’t heard anything from BU. I’m doubtful I’ll receive an interview at this point, but it’d be nice if they let me know either way.

i haven’t heard anything from bu yet either. they really should at least send out rejections…people say that they keep sending interviews till the end of february, but as far as i know, everyone who got interviews already interviewed a couple weeks ago
