Boston University's 7 year BS/MD program

Anyone have experience with this? The admissions process? How competetive it is? Requirements? Better yet, if you were admitted?

The program interviews maybe 80-100 a year, accepts around 30-40. They are average in comeptiteness for BSMD, which is very competitive relative to a regular undergrad. Acceptance rate is probably around 10%. So far, I interviewed with them, no idea o admissions yet.

Is anyone else having an interview?

A lot of us have already had our interviews

Well i meant people who are about to, I don’t think they have finished deciding yet on interviews. How did yours go? Tough/awk/unexpected questions?

Really depends on the interviewer (there’s no standard set), but mine were fairly standard.

Is the student lunch an interview or just a casual convo. Are the med school and undergrad interviews terribly different or basically the same. And, do they ask about ethics/health care questions?

Student lunch is not evaluative so yeah, more casual convo. They will be similar because they know you’re applying for the BS/MD, but the undergrad interviewer is not necessarily in health care so they may be less familiar with your health care-related activities. Whether ethics/ health care questions are asked depends on the interviewer, mine didn’t but you should certainly be prepared for those. Good luck.

if you haven’t been contacted by boston yet for their med program and you look at your boston applicant link and it says our records indicate that review of your application is complete, does that mean you didn’t get an interview?

I was told by an admissions counselor via email that two SAT 2’s are required( Chem and Math 2); however, one in foreign language is recommended. I already took one in USH (720) and will be retaking chem tomorrow along with math 2. I was thinking of adding Spanish, but is it really worth it? I will be taking AP Spanish next year, and I love Spanish. However, Barron’s is giving me 550’s.

Didn’t take foreign language subject test, still got an interview. Don’t bother if you feel you will do poorly; one of the required reqs can be a foreign language teacher so if you get a good one from them (which I didn’t) that would cover over if you feel you want to convey your proficiency in foreign language.
