Hook: First Generation College and first generation American, less than 100k combined income

Essays: I am anticipating that they will be very strong, either about how my father escaped communism and risked his life to come here from Romania (amazing story), and how it has impacted me. Or I might just write about my Romanian background and how it has made me unique and who I am now. Possibly even about how I knew I loved business and such since third grade, when I had my own origami business haha, and how I knew since then that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and how it impacted me.

Rec's: Very strong, one from my junior year pre-cal teacher who loved me, other from my Spanish teacher who I had sophomore year and who I will have again Senior year.

Also: Harvard, Wharton, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, Duke, Chicago, Williams, Amherst, NYU-Stern, BC, BU

Will chance back!

well youve got the chops and that story is what will get you into any of those of your choice, i know someone who got 1200/1600 on the sat and saved someone out of a flaming tractor and they got into harvard so youre good on all of those if you dominate the essays. Definitely in at 8 of the 12 listed

GOOD LUCK!!
chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735932-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

I think you have a really good chance at UPenn, especially if you apply ED. Being a first generation is a good hook. I would bring up your SAT scores a bit but other than that I would say it’s a mid-low reach

Harvard: high reach
Princeton: mid reach
Yale: mid reach
Dartmouth: mid reach
Brown: mid reach
Duke: mid reach
Chicago: match
Williams: match
Amherst: low reach
NYU-Stern: mid reach (Stern is really competitive)

BU: in

bump bump bump

you have a solid GPA, but your SAT score is a little below average- definitely retake it, getting +2500 will make you a perfect candidate for the places you listed. your ECs seem a bit scattered, but diverse…but things dont jump out at me from there
anyways predictions:

Harvard- reach, Wharton- low reach, Princeton- reach, Yale- reach, Dartmouth- reach, Brown- low(er) reach, Duke- high match, Chicago- high match, Williams- match, Amherst- match, NYU-Stern- match, BC/BU- match

chance me back if you have time? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736548-chance-me-top-schools-ivies.html</a></p>

bumpppppp por favor

any other input?

It seems like it’s all hinging on your essay, here. You have great stats, but it seems like your essay will come across as either inspiring, or cliche. Make sure you write it well. But other than that, I’d say you’re good. The combined academics and sports talent are a great plus. :)

If you don’t mind…http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/738568-chance-me.html</a></p>

You seem like a pretty good candidate overall. Retake the SATs, as you planned, and at very least bring your CR score up.

Harvard: high reach (though it’s really a high reach for anyone)
Princeton: mid reach
Yale: mid-high reach
Dartmouth: mid reach
Brown: low-mid reach
Duke: low reach
Chicago: low reach
Williams: match
Amherst: high match-low reach
NYU-Stern: pretty selective - mid reach, maybe
BC: in (very in.)
