Boston?

Okay, while we all wait in silent agony for envelopes marked with MIT to arrive in our mailbox, let's distract ourselves.

I haven't visited MIT, and I don't get to unless I get in, so, let me ask...what is Boston like? What are three adjectives you'd use to describe it? The only vision I have of Boston is from the movies "Mystic River" and "Good Will Hunting," and both those were kind of dingy...what is Boston like?

What are all of the teams, and how is spirit for them? Obviously the Red Sox, Patriots...but what else? Is there a good night life? Lots of theatres, or are there other forms of entertainment? Does it get really cold in the winter? Is it very historical? How long is a drive to NYC?

I'm so curious...anyone who lives in the East Coast, just describe your feelings about it.

Boston: sweet, nice, sex

MIT: opportunity, intelligent, sex

I can't imagine why you would need any further explanation after alig4real's eloquent, informative post, but since I have nothing better to do, and I live in CT... ;)

Boston - your run-of-the-mill city. Though, cleaner and "nicer" than NYC I suppose (though I love NY). From New Haven to Boston is about 3 hours, from New haven to New York is about 1.5 hours. Add them together and it's about 4.5 from Boston to New York by car. It's got everything you'll possibly want or need from a big city - good transit, good food, good entertainment.

Red Sox - like I've said many times. 1918. FLUKE. done. ;)

This is why they need me. I offer dissenting opinion.

Though I'm all for the Patriots. They're doing quite well this year.

fun city, altho the weather's not the greatest. we were up there for about a week last spring visiting cousins/colleges, and we saw the sun for maybe two of those days :-(

New England is definitely sunny :P
