Hi guys!

I have a quick question for all of you: should I take the ACT after having taken the SAT?

I took the SAT I back in October as a sophomore and did quite well; I will definitely not be retaking it. However, I'm now seeing a considerable number of people around me take the ACT as well, and I'm starting to get doubts...should I also take the ACT, or is it enough to have a good SAT score? Just something I want to get off of my mind.

Thanks!

If your SAT is good enough for applying to the colleges you desire to apply to, you have no reason to take the ACT. Colleges readily accept either test.

A lot of people find they do comparatively better on the ACT. Unless you are positive that your SAT score is already sufficient to be admitted wherever you would like to apply, I recommend giving the ACT a try. You have nothing to lose, especially if the colleges you are planning to apply to adhere to Score Choice.

you never know until you try. I know for myself i would always wonder if i could have done better. Why not try the SAT again as well. If you were only a sophomore when you took it, imagine what you could do now:)

I would take the ACT. I had a decent 1910 on the SAT (I was hoping for 2000+), but I got a 35 on the ACT (I was hoping for a 30+). The tests vary in many ways, and you might find that it is much easier, just as I did. Who knows, you might get a better ACT score than the SAT one!
