What do students tend to use on campus, bottled water or filtered?
I was thinking of buying a Brita/Purr (Currently I use filtered water at home and reuse stainless sports bottles) but does that mean that I would fill/ filter the bathroom faucet water? That doesn't sound refreshing :) or do students just run around campus filling up their containers at "watering holes"? I can't imagine getting the shuttle to the local Walmart and hauling cases of bottled water each week ...or maybe it is a student body ritual .....please advise.

Don’t bother with the filter. Rochester water is very drinkable and doesn’t have any off tastes you need to filter out.

Many students on campus use sports/Sigg bottles for their drinking water. It’s the green thing to do. Generally students fill their bottles from the drinking fountains, or from the bathroom and/or hall kitchen faucets.

And if you must have bottled water, you can buy it at the campus store or in vending machines around campus.

BTW, there is a campus shuttle that runs to WalMart, Target and Wegman’s (grocery store) on weekends. Students haul all sorts of stuff back to campus on the shuttle.

There are little “water-bottle-filling” stations at some of the fountains around campus! =) I never found it necessary to buy water bottles from grocery stores.

D drinks the water–says it tastes fine

Thanks all,
I am going to pass on both the Brita and the bottled water. Good to know about the weekend shuttle to the local stores. 19 more days, I am so excited.
