Bottom Line When Do Rd Decisions Come Out?

There are so many conflicting reports of who got in when for what school, its terribly confusing! I think I like it the old fashioned way when there were two dates, one for ED and one for RD. It seems odd that so many people have/are finding out that appear to be RD.

Does anyone know for sure when regular decisions are made/sent out/posted online? I think I was told they only do this via mail, is this true?
We are going away on a big family vacation and my nephew is on pins and needles for his decision and really hopes to have it before we go on Monday, so if you know can you share this info?

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

It seems has if NYU is sending out their admissions "invitations" and acceptances sporadically. Some of my friends who received large scholarships to NYU got their letters because they have to go to this weekend seminar. Other's got "invitations" that sounded more like a likely letter with an official letter to follow in the coming days.

But none of my friends received anything from NYU on the same day (6 people from my school were accepted thus far, half of them in Stern). So it seems completed random.

Status: Accepted (3/17/08)

Applied: Jan 15 (RD)

Is there a date when if we haven't heard, it's probably not the best news?
Or does NYU send letters (acceptances, rejections, and waitlists) all at once, not by catergory?

i've heard that everything is sent at random

i got a tiny letter yesterday telling me that i got in and that my official admission letter will be coming in the mail soon.

hopelesslylost: You said that your friends already received information that they were getting large scholarships. Does this mean that everyone who received the invitation cards or did not receive anything will not be receiving the scholarships? Could you possibly clarify which ones they received? Thanks!
