I was admitted to almost all of my dream schools but had to enroll into my state school because of finances, now my scenario isn't as dramatic as the title suggests, it was just meant to draw attention ha.
But I digress, I was thinking of trying to transfer after my first year (I know of the slim chances of acceptance already so bear me the details) but I wanted to know if there was any opportunity of achieving a scholarship as a transfer student otherwise I'm gonna have to go through the emotional roller coaster I went through this year if I even get accepted.

There are substantially fewer merit scholarships for transfers than for fr applicants, and they are generally for lower amounts. See the Resources sticky thread for a link to some transfer scholarships.

In addition, at some schools, need based FA for transfers is not as generous as for fr.

If you really need merit scholarships, you might consider taking a gap year and reapplying as a fr to schools where you have a reasonable chance of receiving a substantial award.
