Bouncing Back After Freshman Year in High School

If you saw my first post my GPA was very bad after my freshman year in high school. Now after sophomore year my weighted GPA is 3.2 and my unweighted is 2.64.As of right now I don’t what colleges I could apply for after my junior year if I drastically change my weighted and unweighted GPA.Any suggestions?

Look at your state schools and schools with low GPA averages. If i’m being honest with you, I don’t think a school with a high average GPA will forgive your freshman and sophomore years, even if you get a 4.0 junior year.

Don’t be upset with yourself over your GPA- think of it as a learning experience. State schools and community colleges offer fine educations that won’t put you in mountains of debt. Find your passion and get a great GPA in college, and follow your dreams!

It is hard to say without more detail. What was your unweighted GPA freshman year, and what was it sophmore year.

Going into your Junior year, take it one day at a time. Stay ahead in your classes. Do homework as close as possible to the day that it is assigned. Sit in the front row if possible and pay attention. Minimize time on-line and instead focus on school. Every week keep ahead and do the best that you can. Seek out help from your teachers (for example you might want to look for them after school). If there are particular classes where you are weak, especially if this is math, then get some help over the summer.

If you can pull up your grades a bit you should be good. @newkidnewtrix is correct that state schools and CC offer fine educations typically at relatively reasonable prices.

How would my SAT and ACT scores impact my admissions?
