I have an off campus interview with a Staples grad (same high school I go to) and Bowdoin alumni set on Sunday. We communicated over email; he asked about a brief description of my background/academic and extra-curricular interests.
How should I give him my background/academic and extra-curricular interests? Over email? A physical sheet of paper with a list of activities? What should I expect for questions? Sorry if I’m asking a lot, I’m very nervous.
If you have a resume already prepared you can email that to him/her. Otherwise I’d write a brief summary up and send it. Bring a physical copy to the interview as well.
FWIW my D always brought a copy of her resume to college interviews. Some interviewers didn’t really look at it but in other cases she felt it was a good springboard for conversation.
I’m not sure about sending it. That puts the burden on the alum to print and bring it. OP can have something in hand. Don’t worry. This should mostly be pleasant conversation.
I don’t know what they did with my information when I requested an off-campus interview. Why I filled out the alumni interview request form, I filled out information on what academic fields I want to study in and extracurricular interests.
I thought the interviewer might use that information. Otherwise, would the interviewer be mostly talking about my academics?
I’m a bit worried cornering grades, plus I didn’t take any AP courses. Mostly regular classes, Honors, and Advanced classes. Not sure how to explain this to the interviewer.
