What’s up guys? I started looking into Bowdoin a few weeks ago, and now I absolutely love it! I’m really deciding on whether I should apply ED 2. I am still waiting to hear back from a school I applied to early action. But, the more and more I think about Bowdoin, the more I think that it’s everything I want in a college. And that notion gets stronger whenever I read a review or someone’s opinion on the school. I am really considering it over Ivies and other schools like U of Chicago and Duke.

Anyone else in my place or a similar situation?

It seems like you have college preferences on different ends of the spectrum. You should decide if you really want a small college before applying ED 2 to Bowdoin(you said that you are interested in Ivies, U Chicago and Duke). I applied ED 1 and i knew that I wanted a small liberal arts college. Having said all of that, Bowdoin is an awesome college.

Hey dolphindolphin, you are very correct in your statement about having different and seemingly contradicting preferences. To be honest, I’m applying Duke and UChicago because of the simple fact that they are stellar academic schools. Having said that, I wouldn’t mind going to either one. However, I am looking for a small liberal arts college in New England. Bowdoin seems perfect in that context. The more I think about it, the more I think I will apply ED 2.

Good luck with ED 1! I hope you get in! Did you submit your test scores?

Bowdoin is definitely a great choice if you are looking small (cold) liberal arts. To answer your question, I submitted my best ACT score.

Good luck to you too (hopefully for your ED 1 only)!

if you don’t mind me asking, where did you apply ED 1?

EDIT: Oops. Meant to say EA 1.

i’m basically in the same boat, except I will be a LONG WAY from home if i get into bowdoin, so i really looked for that feeling of homelyness (is that a word? :p) and found it at Bowdoin when I visited over the summer. I’ve applied to Colgate University as well… but i really REALLY can’t wait to hear from Bowdoin. I’ve visited several different types of colleges, both urban and rural and really, unless you visit them, you have no idea how different the two settings feel. Everyone should really think about that because it seems that it could either make or break your college experience
