Hi current bowdoin students I was wondering what your scores were. Anybody under 650 in at least one of your sections?
Also can you give me an idea of chances at ed admission? my scores are
M: 610
CR: 750
W: 720
I took the sats again in november and im hoping the math rose a bit but it’s not too likely.
I have good ecs, essays, and the swim coach at the school is calling the admission office to put in a good word for me.
please help!!

Bowdoin is SAT optional because they really don’t put much value in your scores. If I were you, I’d consider taking the ACT for other schools, and hopefully get some good SAT Subject test scores. I’m a high school senior applying too, and my scores are all good except one 650 in CR, so I probably just won’t submit it.
Bowdoin’s pretty hard to get in to anyway though. SAT ranges for CR and M are 660-760.

All in all, strong grades and good essays will help you more than your 610 will hurt you.

cuppycake - your swim coach should be calling the Bowdoin coach as the admissions dept is really only interested in whether the coach wants you . .

hshs2288- thank you. hopefully it will work out! i hate that 610! i have good bio sat score and 660 english lit and 3 good ap scores too.
torasee- my swim coach doesn’t speak english so thats out. but i met the coach and it went well, he said hed put in a good word for me.
