Hi! I know Bowdoin’s acceptance rate it rather competitive. I was wondering how difficult would it be to just get into the theater department at Bowdoin. Is that a less competitive major? I sing opera, do musical theater and theater and dance and was planning on showing this all in my arts supplement. I was just wondering about the selectivity of Bowdoin’s theater program.

Students are not admitted to a specific department at Bowdoin. In addition, Theater is a minor, not a major at Bowdoin. It’s not a department/program you would need to audition for in order to be admitted.

That said, Bowdoin is looking for intelligent and talented students who have a wide range of interests, so definitely display your talents in your arts supplement. Even if you don’t plan on majoring in theater or music, you should submit an arts supplement if it shows your passion and talent.
