Bowdoin vs Amherst?

Hi people!!
I am considering one of the above schools as my top schools to apply to…but I really dont know which one fits me the best…I will definitly apply to both if I did not get to niether one by ED; but which one should I apply to for ED? Also which one is more generous with financial aid?

Thank you very much!!!

Bowdoin has an ED II option. You can choose to apply Amherst ED and Bowdoin ED II if Amherst doesn’t take you.

bluepurple…you should try to visit both schools this summer if you have an opportunity. Each college has its own unique and wonderful personality. Academically, you can’t go wrong at either place. Amherst may have a better reputation nationally, being at or near the top of liberal arts colleges. But Bowdoin is always in the top 10 and has been hovering around #5 for the past few years. I believe Bowdoin as an “earthy” charm that is very appealing. It also seemed to me to be a tad more “laid back” than Amherst. It really boils down to the right fit for you. So I would suggest you try to get in a visit to both schools and spend a day or two talking to faculty and students on campus and visiting thw towns of Amherst and Brunswick.

ok thanks guys! how about their reputation and statistics as producers of future PhD’s; I am particularly interested in neuroscience and neurobiology; i am also very interested in physics; but im an all around student so i might change my career; nothings much stable yet, as up now. But I really want to get my PhD from a top University, but im pretty sure I make my own college experience so I think both schools will do me a tremendous amounts of goods if I use my sources wisely.
