Hey guys!

I'm planning on applying RD to all three of them, but I was wondering which one has the strongest international relations and Middle Eastern Studies departments.

I know Middlebury probably does, but I really don't like the location. Any advice?

I think you’re right—Middlebury! There’s a international politics and economics major and an interesting international studies major. If you’re worried about being isolated, I think one thing to investigate is how often Bowdoin students, for example, really go into Portland. Maybe once a month? Some applicants get overly concerned about location not realizing that unless you’re IN a city you will be really busy with college classes and activities and won’t need or want to go to the city all that much.

Hitch123: Thanks! You’re right; I probably will be too busy to go into the city very often. Is Middlebury the only college out of the 3 that offers both majors?

Actually, I was more worried about going to school in Vermont than going to school in Maine. I think Brunswick sounds like a quaint little town. I heard that Poughkeepsie is kinda sketchy, but it’s kind of close to NYC, so surely I would find time to go there. Middlebury isn’t much bigger than my hometown, so I’m not sure I would like it. I want something different.
