If we're in, let's say for example, Rieber, then our address is..

Rieber Court/Saxon Suites, Box #_____
310 De Neve Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90024-1316

Is the box # our room number?

You'll get your box number the day you move in. It is NOT the same as your room number.

it depends on your building.

last year in rieber vista our mailing address was
310 De Neve Dr, Rm# RVXXXX
Los Angeles, CA 90024

so it was in fact our room number.

you will know for sure for your particular building the day you move in (they give you a paper with your mailing address and mailbox combo).

Make sure you know which mailbox numbering convention your dorm uses; incoming mail does get juxtaposed between recipients whose room number, incorrectly listed as "mailbox number" on the packaging, are the same as another student's mailbox number and vice versa.

shoooot. thanks chowder for asking this question. i better go talk to my bank tomorrow.

i want to know my mailing address now though...sigh

hey VTECaddict,

do you know if summit works the same way as vista since they're both resplazas?

Mailing Addresses for On-Campus Housing

Your mail box number is your room number listed in your Room/Roommate(s) Assignment Letter. To avoid delays, please have sender use the name under which you are registered at UCLA. Due to limited storage space, mail and packages sent to the residence halls prior to September 22, 2006 may be returned to sender, so please plan accordingly.

The above is from the Housing Move In Information. Looks like box no. is the same as the room number.

wow, thank you momca25!

allena, check out momca25's post. im confused now.

It might have changed. Last year I got my mailbox when I checked in and got my room key.

Maybe it depends on the dorm, or maybe it's been changed this year, but last year my daughter was in Hedrick and there was no connection between her room # and her box # that I could see. It was the same as allena, she was given the box # when she moved in.

there probably was a lot of confusion with the mail box and room numbers so thats why changed it.

yup, makes a lot more sense to me

EDIT: I didn't notice momca25's post... w/e now there's a source! :p
