<p>I am at boys state right now, and it sucks! Today is the first day I'm here and it is already looking like a military camp. The forms are hot and small. </p>
<p>has anyone else been to boys state in the past? Does it get any better?</p>
<p>Ok this might be a useless thread but I have so much time to kill with no wireless internet (I am using my phone).</p>
<p>After Googling ‘Boys State,’ I have come to the conclusion that it is like a non-militaristic Hitler Youth. Have fun.</p>

<p>My cousin went and he loved it. he though it was all life changing hahha. maybe cause it was in cali? idk… im a girl so it doesn’t really pertain to me…</p>
<p>They described their experience as “militaristic, superpatriotic, and heavily tilted to God and country.” The three students critical of the program left early after they claimed to have experienced “hatred and intolerance.”</p>

<p>I’m sure it’ll get better, it’s your first day! I went to girls state… I had a BLAST. I know my guy friends who went to boys state had even more fun than we did, my one friend said the last day all the guys were crying b/c they were like brothers at the end of it. Honestly, I wish I could go back! And I plan on it as a counselor. Just keep an open mind! :)</p>
<p>Ohio and Texas are known for having a right wing, faith oriented boys state. now that’s something to be proud of, yes?</p>
<p>Haha and I find it so funny yet so sad that they only hold catholic and Protestant mass on Sundays. There are 1250 boys, and no Muslims/Jews/anything else? I doubt it.</p>
<p>Again I say… radicals. Radicals can be either conservative or liberal.</p>
