Can anyone that actually knows tell us more about the Business and Political Economics program at the Stern School of Business? I was wondering how this will prepare me for a future in Ibanking and potentially politics later in life.

thanks!

If you want to do Ibanking BPE is not for you. I know there are some people who graduate and do international banking but… this is very rare…

BPE is perfect for consulting or any job really-it can be a very useful degree-however, ibanking is an insanely competitive field. Only about 30-50 kids in a graduating class will land those jobs. BPE will however prepare you for politics.

The program is extremely difficult. Imagine being in all APs compared to all of your friends taking regular classes-at least for first semester. The class material is also less ‘generic’ compared to the regular stern freshman however, as you get to skip a lot of the useless requirements. The traveling is alot, but some people love it.
About ten -fifteen people will drop by the time you even go abroad.

can you drop before the semester starts?

why is can’t BPE students go into Investment Banking?

You can… but you won’t really be as qualified as the regular finance majors and its so competitive already
