<p>I had them for about a year and a half and honestly I am so grateful I did. My teeth looked AWFUL before I got them and now they’re completely straight. Yes, the period spent with braces itself was a complete hassle (not to mention painful, as well), but otherwise, I’m glad I had them.</p>
<p>I had straight teeth but a slight overbite and I got TMJ. The dentist said that the braces would help my TMJ, which was utter rubbish. I had more TMJ in the 15 months of braces than the rest of my life combined. And since they’ve been off I still get TMJ more than I used to.</p>
<p>I got my braces off a year and 3 months ago (:. You only have to wear a retainer everyday for 6 months, then after that you only wear them for nights (for maybe about 5-6 years I think). After that, you only wear them once a week for the rest of your life lol. I got TOTALLY used to them, now I cannot even go to sleep without a retainer on.</p>

<p>My teeth are always immaculately straight. Used to be perfectly white, too. :D</p>

<p>I’ve had them for three years (I think. I may be counting wrong haha). Hopefully I’ll be getting them off this August or September, though! <em>crosses fingers</em> I’m just so sick of what I look like with braces. >.<</p>
<p>Eff. I need to go put on those rubber bands I’ve been neglecting for a month…I can never get them right though. Bleh. They somehow always snap in my mouth and leave red swells on my lips lol.</p>
<p>Besides that, though, I’m rather glad my teeth are straightening. On my first day my orthodontist was trying to convince us that he could do miracles with “not so great teeth” such as mine. I think about rummaging through dozens of old casts he could only find two sets of teeth worse than mine were hahaha. 
Everyone on my dad’s side of the family basically has horrendous teeth. Right now I don’t think I’m even related to them…</p>
