Bradford campus

S did not get in the main campus, but was offered Bradford. He is OOS and didn't even know about the 5-campus system. Is it common for Pitt to refer people to their other campuses? I don't think he wants to go to Bradford, feels it's too rural, but could he transfer to the main campus after the first or second year? He would be a liberal arts type, English or History probably.

Yes, I think that it is pretty common to refer students to branch campuses if they don't get into main campus. What state are you from? Bradford is pretty much the coldest spot in PA. Would he have the option to go to Pitt Johnstown or other? And yes, students do transfer after a couple of years but I know kids who just voluntarily chose to stay at a branch because they had friends there and liked it.

thanks for the response. I don't know if he has the option to go to another campus, Bradford was all that was offered. Yes, it does look really cold. We live in Maryland. Also applied to Temple, but have heard nothing, even though it's rolling admissions (he applied in mid-December). He'd prefer a big city and a state school.
