Brag/Whine about IB scores here!

My school doesn’t offer history SL, only HL, but a lot of the HL students at my school ended up with 3s or 4s as well.

dammit, I lost my ib id a long time ago and now that I can kinda get credit at the college I want it

eh, I’ll figure out in a few more days when the school posts it

2010 MAY ENGLISH A1 HL 4
2010 MAY LATIN SL 4
2010 MAY HIST.AMERICAS HL in ENGLISH 5
2010 MAY HISTORY EE in ENGLISH C
2010 MAY BIOLOGY HL in ENGLISH 3
2009 MAY PHYSICS SL in ENGLISH 5
2010 MAY MATH.STUDIES SL in ENGLISH 5
2010 MAY THEORY KNOWL. TK in ENGLISH B
2010 MAY SOC.CUL.ANTH. SL in ENGLISH (Extra) 5

haha just passed…

Just a question (I don’t do IB, but I probably will later on) does your IB score come out after all the college applications? And if so, what’s the point in getting a perfect 45/45?
(sorry for being ignorant)

Math HL - 7
Physics HL - 7
Econ HL - 7
Chem SL - 7
English AL SL - 7
French B SL - 7
EE - A
TOK - B
Total - 45

Rejected from Harvard, Stanford and MIT but they can SUCK IT! Oxford here I come!!!

^Holy Mother****er. How did you get rejected? There’s got to be a flaw. Then again, most of those scores aren’t seen until after you’re admitted.

woahhhhhh you got a perfect 45?? There are only a handful of those each year!

Okay, so I concluded that I overreacted earlier just because my scores were so much less than my original prediction. Whatever. I’m happy where I’m going to college and really wouldn’t have gotten credit and I got my diploma so… :)

TOK: C
EE: C :frowning:
French B SL: 4
History of the Americas HL: 4
Chemistry HL: 4 (this absolutely devastated me…)
Computer Science SL: 4
Math HL: 5 (this upset me, too, but this was the highest grade in my class)
English A1 HL: 6

Total: 28. Had a predicted 34

Wow, Sci Fry congrats

Math SL : 7
Bio HL: 7
Chem HL: 6
History SL: 6
English HL:6
French SL: 5 (■■■.)
English EE: A
TOK: B
Total : 40 points.

I did not work hard enough for a 40 but it worked out for me so I’m happy.

For the data hounds among you, here is a link to the 2009 IB Statistics –
500;

The mean score for diploma candidates was 29.51 (including bonus points). Mean EE/TOK points was 1.07. For 2009, 5.53% of diploma candidates got an A on the TOK paper; 14.58% got an A on the EE (though rates vary by subject area).

A score of 40 was the 96.32%tile; 86 students scored a 45.

5% of diploma candidates got a 7 on HL History (it did not aggregate the various versions); 4% got a 7 on HL Bio, 2% got a 7 on HL English A1.

Do not beat yourselves up, folks. Keep in mind these are last year’s numbers, but they may offer some comfort/wry amusement, etc.

I feel for that for Top Schools, IB is entirely pointless for credit since for some like MIT, they expect 7’s on everything except the Math. Which means there’s still an AP bias.

French SL: 6
Chem SL: 6

I’m fine with the chem score; it was basically an AP Class with the options thrown in, so I wasn’t super well prepared. I was hoping for a 7 in French, but I got a 5 on the AP so I don’t mind too much.

Wow, beastly.

Well, I wrote down on my application that I was predicted 45. But then again, loads of schools just predict students 45 to impress universities, so I guess predictions aren’t taken seriously. 5 people in my class were predicted 45, but only one of us got it (although the rest still got notably high scores i.e. 40+).

But in all honesty, despite being predicted 45, I never imagined that I would actually achieve it.

Well, that’s impressive in itself. Congrats. Next year, I start my journey for a 45.

Congrats on Oxford!

Why would anyone want to got to either Harvard or MIT? I can see Stanford (my BF is going there) but the other two are so over-rated. Also congrats on your 45- that is really impressive.

^ Well, from an unbiased standpoint, MIT is the greatest school that ever existed!

:) lol, really it’s all down to personal taste. I love MIT and it’s whole collaborative community vibe plus it’s nerdy quirkiness. However I also have friends who honestly hate MIT and would never go there. Different things attract different people.

I’m doing the finals in May, but I have 41/42 + 7 predicted junior year. Just to brag :D

I’ve been interested in MIT since I was about 8. It’s not overrated. Besides, it’s appeal to me is amazing. I have family there.

I’m a Junior who only took one exam this year. But I ended up getting a 5 on IB Environmental Systems and Societies SL. SO DISAPPOINTED! I was expecting a 6. And I wrote SO much!!!
