retake the ACT. Brandeis is in the minority that superscores ACT subscores, so you’ll benefit from concentrating on your lowest catagory

Thanks again everyone for the posts!

Your GPA and EC’s seem solid, though if you raise your ACT by 3 or 4, you should be fine. And I agree, you should consider some other schools as well (Duke, Vanderbilt, or Northwestern)

You seem as though you are a match! Good Luck and keep the great work!

Thanks everyone!!!

You have a decent ACT, and your UW GPA won’t cause too much of a problem. You have a clear passion for the medical sector, which will help you immensely. There is nothing on your r

You certainly should be fine ED. Anecdotal, but a girl with ACT <28 was accepted there ED last year so don’t fret about the standardized score. Do be careful not to be perceived as pre-med or bust. For example, in your essays sound humble and have a career “Plan B.” BTW, Brandeis only gives merit aid to 6% and you won’t get any (again anecdotal but another friend’s son scored 800/800/700, had 5s on 5 APs and 3 sAT subject tests over 750 and was NOT offered any merit aid). He declined in RD.

^I know a kid with a 33 that got waitlisted, and a 35 that got rejected.

Brandeis ED: Low Reach

your ecs look excellent they really highlight your passions and interests which would look really good on the application. your test scores and academics are on the lower side. I would suggest working on raising those test scores and writing an awesome essay. all things considered, i think that brandeis will be a high match school for you good luck

Solid match. I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you, just make sure you write that your brother goes there and get decent recs.

You’re in. You might want ed higher because Brandeis is essentially a low match including the fact that youre eding. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1538022-chance-will-chance-back.htm

Looks like a pretty good match! Your GPA is a little low.

Chance back? Mine

Love the extracurriculars! Also, you have a good chance! Chance back please :)

I have to be blunt.
I am a Brandeis alumnus and have been doing alumni admissions interviews for 15 years and although I think you have a more than likely chance of getting in, you are the sort of applicant I really hate, and he’s why:

(BTW, I hope I’m wrong about you, but unfortunately I see way too many applicants like you).

All you care about is getting into med school and the primary/only reason you want to go to Brandeis is because of their med school admissions rate.

You will spend four years at the school with your head down, getting your A’s and building your pre-med resume and making no contribution to the overall Brandeis community.

After you graduate, you will be off to med school and you will never give Brandeis another thought again, you will not be active nor contribute in any way to the alumni community as it was just a stepping stone for you.

As an alumnus, I really think Brandeis takes far too many kids like this and they are the worse off for it.

I’m sorry if this doesn’t sound like you, but I suspect it might be.

Match. Get your ACT up and it’s a safety.

Chance me back:

Brandeis: Reach

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1560566-chance-me.html

I think that you’re absolutely a match if you apply early! You seem like everything that they are looking for. Your ACT is good and your GPA could be higher, but with all your extracurricular I don’t think that will hurt you.

Chance me back if you get the chance, I would really appreciate it!
