Brandeis ED Chance

Brandeis is my dream school and I was hoping you guys could tell me my chance of getting in…
I WILL BE APPLY ED!
I will be entering my senior year this fall
UW GPA: 3.71/4.00 - from a competitive public high school in MA

My grades show an upward trent 3.42 to 3.63 to 3.9
SAT: I will be using Brandeis’ test flexible policy to submit a paper from history my junior year instead. On this paper my teacher said that he wanted to use my paper as a model for future years and that it was one of the best he has ever read.

Recs: one from my junior year precalculus teacher who said I was one of the hardest working students she has ever met, great one from my junior year history teacher who loved my papers

Essay: Its strong, If I had to give it a letter grade in comparison to what other applicants might submit I would give it a B+

I have/will do every possible prospective student activity(including an interview) at Brandeis to show interest.

Here is the part of my application that I think will hinder my chances the most…
I didn’t take any honors or AP classes until Senior year even though many our offered at my school
Senior year I will be taking: AP Bio, Honors Social Science, CP Calculus, CP Physics, CP English 4

However I do have a reason for not taking these honors/AP classes and my guidance counselor will be explaining that in his letter of rec.

Other schools to chance me at:
Lafayette
Union(NY)
Connecticut College(my second fav, ED2 if I dont get into Brandeis)
BU
UMass
Elon
Franklin & Marshall
Marist

While Brandeis is test-optional, other schools on that list are not. Those who are not test-optional are indicated with target scores instead.

Brandeis ED: High match
Lafayette: Aim for 31+/2100+
Union (NY): Match/High match
CT College: High match
BU: Aim for 29+/2000+
UMass Amherst: Aim for 26+/1800+
Elon: Aim for 27+/1850+
Franklin & Marshall: High match
Marist: Match/High match

If people can also mention how much the honors issue will harm my application it would be appreciated

I will chance back if you give a link

I think that if your guidance counselor fully explain why you couldn’t take the APs/honors and its a good excuse, it shouldn’t really be a problem.

Brandeis is low reach… check out niche.com to see other students’ opinions. And I need your SAT/ACT scores so I can chance you for the other schools!

SAT was bad for me,1790, won’t submit if I don’t have too, but I am retaking it in October

I think Brandeis is definitely in your reach–actually more than in your reach. However, in the case for other schools, I recommend that you retake your SATs because it’s always better safe than sorry

Thanks for the response!
