Brandeis Neuroscience

I’ve just been admitted to Brandeis University, and I’m going to be a neuroscience major.
I’m still totally undecided on what college to go to… the main two I’m considering right now are probably Brandeis and University of Michigan Ann Arbor (both of which I’ve gotten into).
And I’m still waiting on more decisions… pretty hectic time lol

So I’m just wondering if anyone can help me out by giving me some info about the neuroscience & pre-med program at Brandeis. Such as research opportunities (and how early I can get involved), difficulty of getting a hospital internship, how much the professors care, etc.

Thanks!

Brandeis is known for being in the top 5 (or top 10), depending on graduate or undergraduate program, in Neuroscience. The program here in phenomenal, from the start at intro classes you’ll be taught by real Professors that are not only experts in the field, but also very very easy to talk to and get in touch with. The professors number one concerns really are their students. Since there is also a full Phd program, you will have research opportunities (depending on what exactly you’re doing, I currently participate in some studies to make money/extra credit). They have a fully developed pre-med program here since so many students are on a pre-med track.

My D is interested in neuroscience from the psychology/cognitive science standpoint, not pre-med. How is Brandeis’ program if one is not interested in med school? She’s also interested in Women’s/Gender studies and sociology. She has been admitted with an undeclared major. Thanks!

upstate mom, please PM with questions since I have taken both a Neuroscience, and WGS class, and am not on any sort of pre-med track.
