Common App Essay (8/10): focused on my coming out story and how I’ve spent the last four years trying to put my shadows behind me while living in a pretty religious family
Brandeis supplemental (10/10): the class I designed was a culinary class that studied molecular structure through pastries and bread. Filled with dad jokes and puns because I wrote it at 2 in the morning but honestly I’ve never been more proud of myself.
Letters of Recommendation: Academic advisor (8.5/10) she was like a second mom to me and I’m sure she made it rather personal, but given she handles over 600 students I doubt it was super unique // AP Lang teacher (7/10) I didn’t do too well in her class but she knew me really well // AP Biology teacher (10/10) I know her outside of school and I did really well in her class so I know she definitely vouched for me, she mentioned to me once it was the longest LoR she’s ever written.
@noah2425 how do you know your score for the common app essay/supplemental?
@artsydragon Oh haha it’s a self reflection score, I see it on all the other threads of schools I’ve applied to so I just did it out of habit

So what’s the deal with the midyear acceptance? My daughter got midyear acceptance. She REALLY wants to enter in the fall. Going to call and ask about why because she probably wouldn’t enroll under that condition. Is this common at Brandeis? I’ve never heard of colleges placing applicants in a second semester acceptance pool without the students indicating they wanted to wait.
