I'm currently enrolled at URI, will most likely have a 4.0 at the end of the semester, changed majors from intl. business to a double major in political science and english, taking a very challenging chinese course, on student senate, active in the school paper, SAT scores were 1910. I haven't thought enough about different schools, mainly Brandeis as my no. 1, UNH as No. 2. My essay is about changing into a better student/person/getting over drugs in high school and about why brandeis is a good match and why i think it kicks ass. I have about 15 AP credits from high school and a 3.0 high school GPA. What are my chances?

would re-taking the SAT's be beneficial?

currently taking chinese, sociology, communications, and english literature

just enrolled in the honors program, will be taking another english course, international politics, 2nd level chinese, some other politics course, maybe an additional honors junior level course

AUTO Rejection!!

All i had to see is that you did drugs...def dont write about that... i think some people forget that drugs are ILLEGAL...why would any school admit you knowing you did something illegal...its the same as saying how i turned into a better person after armed robbery or drunk driving.

Other than that i think you stand a pretty good chance...contingent upion you getting that 4.0 or anywhere near that. your SAT scores are fine for Brandies.

no i remembered drugs are illegal, the point of the essay is that i was on a self destructive path but i turned around. really auto reject if you admit you screwed up and youve recovered and are 100 percent in the right direction? really? who are you? if youre an admissions person ill buy it but i really dont trust you...

just one of the few..do a search on this....

ok wow intense chill all i say in the essay is: "my friends were becoming addicts and dealers and i realized that my path in life was different from theirs", end of story, i move on in the essay
