Brandeis Transfer Thread Fall 2019

@jdewey I didn’t apply for aid. But credit evaluation is included so I assume they also include fin aid info

Does anybody know the deposit deadline? I can’t find it on the site.

May 25th

hey guys… im really confused. i got the email saying i would get my decision thursday, but then never heard from them?

they didn’t email. jus check the portal!

accepted! not sure going until next week but most likely though lul… Anyone has any idea about the off-campus living near campus?

I got accepted yesterday! Off-Campus living is a problem for me, is there anyone also worry about that? It may influence my decision not to go Brandy.

yeah same @k11k11 i feel like it would rly impact the integration into the community. not thrilled about that one.

so confused. was the decision right there when you logged in. i got the email tuesday but my portal has no decision on it …

Congrats on being accepted! I have a question, in the previous years it seemed rolling admission meant you had to accept and deposit rather quickly, is that what is occurring this year or have the dates changed? Thanks

FYI about off-campus living, the best way to do it without a car is to live within walking distance from a stop for the commuter rail train. The line is called the Fitchburg line and it runs around every hour. Brandeis has a station literally ON CAMPUS! The best thing about is that it is not a subway, they have desks and you can do school work on your way back and forth. I live in downtown Boston currently and I don’t plan on moving, I will take the train from North Station every day. 25 minutes, reverse commute and it is CHEAP. Off campus can be a blessing in disguise because it allows you the option to live in Boston or Somerville which are very interesting places to live.

And I am 95% sure Brandeis is where I will be headed next year.

Yeah. Mine says I have to reply by May, 2.

FYI - I think there is a FB page for students where they try to find roommates to fill slots in off campus housing. Many students live off campus and most who do are within a mile from campus, some even walking distance. There are a lot of apartments in the area. Brandeis does not guarantee housing for 4 years so many start to move off by junior year. Good luck!

Do you know the name of the fb group? @momma2018

Is there anybody who got rejected on last week? I haven’t got my decision yet, and I didn’t apply for financial aid. Can I just assume that I am likely to be rejected?

@transfer88371 What’s your enrollment deadline?

I also noticed that I have to pay the deposit by May, 2. The time for me to make the decision is too short. Actually, I am still waiting for the notification from the other 7 schools I applied for.

Can somebody give me some advice? What should I do?

Sorry @transfer88371 - I remember someone mentioned it at a parents’ group but I did not get the name. I know there is an accepted student FB page, maybe start there? For some reason, Brandeis has a lot of FB groups which I found funny bc my son thinks FB is for “old people” like me. He ended up creating a page just to keep up with various campus groups.

@k11k11 I have not got my decision too, did you get an email about online interview last week?

For those who were not offered on campus housing, can I ask what year you’d be entering? Sophomore or Junior?
