Brandeis Transfer Thread Fall 2019

Heyo. I just wanted to share my two cents with you guys. I am applying as a transfer student but I got married really early. My husband graduated from the Cornell University School of Engineering last May, and since he switched majors halfway through and didn’t have too many internships, he’s honestly having a rough time finding a job that will pay him what you’d expect from his background (he’s working in low level IT right now). Since I do a fair bit of his resume sending, I’ve really developed the opinion that employers care MUCH more about what you do while you’re in college than they care about where you got your degree. I’m not saying a Brandeis degree won’t help, but if we don’t get in then lets just make the most of our opportunities elsewhere and we’ll do just fine.

That being said, good luck!

accepted!

Accepted!!

Accepted!!

I got denied? My grades are above average, my recommendations were great. I think its because they’re need-aware which is code for “we don’t accept you because you’re poor”

I was denied too. I’m really upset about this because I had my heart set on going here. I have above average grades, solid EC’s, and great recommendations. I really want to know why I was rejected. I do need a lot of financial though because my twin Brother is in college as well.

@applications88

According to their website: “Please keep in mind that the transfer admissions process at Brandeis is need-aware, meaning that a student’s ability to pay is one of the many factors considered in an admissions decision.” We weren’t accepted because we’re poor. I love being liable for the fact that my mom is disabled and I’m forced to live below the poverty line

Ughh. I still have 3 more schools to receive decisions from. Hopefully I get into at least one of them because they are my favourites as well. I had to take a year off school because of some medical issues and had to to take classes locally. I was hoping for a good outcome after experiencing stressful year. I think I may give admissions a call to see if they would be willing to give me some more information. Good luck to you all!

I mean. I won’t deny the chances for students who can’t pay are undeniably smaller, but for the record I am going on full aid.

@applications88 I’m coming off a gap year for personal reasons as well, it’s hard to explain that sort of thing effectively
Good luck with your other choices!

Accepted Off campus housing with full aid. Very surprised and relieved Good luck to those still pursuing

Am I the only one that hasn’t got a decision yet? I guess they forgot me?

@SMSNYAL No, I’m also waiting on my decision as well. Good luck!

Is anyone still waiting on decisions?

I am!!! Have you received decision yet? After the officer asked me to hand in some other materials on 16/4, I have no news then……

@GoRedRedRed I have’nt heard from them yet either… When did you submit your application?

just on the deadline. It seems that Brandeis released offers on 18/4, 25/4 and 5/1 but whether and when the next wave…

Got denied 5/21, good luck to those who are still waiting.
