Brandeis university class of 2020 regular decision thread

yes- haven’t heard anything with the offer of admission

Same!

I was accepted as a Midyear student. Brandeis is my dream school and I’m so excited; but can somebody explain to me why some students are accepted as midyear? I’m confused.

Waitlisted with 3.8 UW and over a 4 weighted. 2160 SAT. Absolutely devastated. Brandeis has been my top choice since I was 14 years old and I made that clear on my application. A few kids from my high school with better credentials applied to it as their safety school. I really regret not applying ED II.

Got in with a 3.55 UW GPA, decent amount of extra-curriculars and three letters of recommendation. Had an interview at the school, and it must have gone fairly well. Was pleasantly surprised to see that I got in, and am excited to probably go there when I get financial information because the tuition rate is about the price of a very nice car per year.

Rejected but expected it anyway

@SydneyCO Schools offer mid-year admissions to get better control over the number of students in attendance in any given semester. They are expecting through attrition, graduation, study abroad or other means to have spaces available during Spring semester. Lot of schools now actively set up these study abroad programs for this purpose, although it seems Brandeis doesn’t have one yet. Congratulations. This shouldn’t deter you from attending the school you want.

Son got in with 3.9W GPA, 34 ACT and decent EC. From Orange County, CA. Really happy for him. Good luck everyone.

Accepted with a 2300 SAT, 4.46 GPA (W), and actually pretty weak extracurriculars. I’m thinking my essays may have made up for that?
Congrats to everyone who’s gotten in, and best of luck to everyone who’s waiting!

accepted - 3.55 UW GPA and 33 ACT - great essays

accepted! 4.0 unweighted GPA 2050 SAT, strong essays and ECs (work in state government, music, social justice activism)

congratulations to everyone who was accepted!

Son was accepted tonight- 99.53 GPA, 35 ACT, Subject tests:800 Bio, 720 Math2, strong ECs (especially in dance, musical theater and community service)

Accepted!!
(Was invited to LSC program)
4.3 GPA (W), 3.9 (UW). 2030 SAT. Decent extracurriculars, great recommendations and essays.

So excited!!!

Got accepted as a Midyear student as well. 28 ACT

Accepted. 3.5 UW GPA, 3.9 W GPA. 33 ACT. (29 Math, 32 Reading, 34 Science, 35 English) Excellent essays, letters of recommendation, multiple Latin scholastic awards, NHS, and a summer research project with an excellent research recommendation from a physician.

Accepted!! Very happy about it, Brandeis is the top choice I have among schools I’ve heard back from so far. Accepted with a 3.55uw (4.07w), 33 ACT, decent ec’s, very rigorous course load (overall, 7 AP’s and 10 dual enrollment classes)

I got in
Got a 1910 on the SATs, 4.27 weighted GPA, 12 APs and a lot of extra curriculars.

Accepted as an English major! 2040 SAT (61 M, 71 R, 72 W,) 4.0 GPA, Salutatorian from a tiny public school, decent extracurriculars and advanced course load. It’s unlikely I’ll be able to afford it but it does feel good to get in

An international student can only contribute less than 10k per year and get rejected. Well, no suprise! Congrats to everyone who get accepted.

Accepted with a 2000 SAT, middle eastern male

wait-listed :P, but congratulations to all who got in!
