Brandeis University vs. Boston University Undergraduate Neuroscience

I recently was accepted to these two schools. I would like to go into neuroscience on a pre-med track and go to a medical school. I was wondering which school is better in terms of research, studies, relationships between faculty and students, and anything else that adds to the education. I also received 60k from Brandeis and was accepted into the LCS program there and got 40k from BU if value is taken into perspective. Thanks!

Brandeis’ neuroscience is very strong. As a smaller school, there are more opportunities to engage with your professors. Don’t know about BU, but in general, larger schools have larger classes especially in the sciences and tend to use grad students. BU is larger and so may be more diverse but Brandeis is more of a community. My person opinion is that Brandeis is more prestigious but I’m sure people who went to BU might not agree.

I was actually accepted to both too. I’d choose Brandeis University (I’m also majoring in neuroscience). It’s much smaller and I think that it’ll make it easier to interact with our professors :).

Go to Brandeis.

@commentator I agree with what you’re thinking. Thanks for your opinion!

@IWantStanford16 I am leaning a bit more towards Brandeis too. But I just found out that I got 60k from Boston College too! I may still need to think about things but hopefully we can see each other if we both go to Brandeis!

@redpoodles I am leaning towards Brandeis at the moment.

Haha, sure thing. Good luck!

Not even a question in my mind. Go to Brandeis.

@jerryberry, Brandeis has a phenomenal reputation in the neuroscience community both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In fact, I think it may be one of their most popular majors, and their graduates place very well into both MD and PhD programs. Boston University is just not known for neuroscience, with a much larger percentage of the students majoring in business/marketing/management.
