Hi everyone, I'm an international student from Turkey and I'm having a hard time choosing between these two universities. I used to make an early application to Bucknell and I am now accepted after I was deferred.

I'm going to focus on business and I don't know which one stands forward. I also want to get your opinions about the social life. Washington and Lee and University of Richmond also sent me acceptences so it would be great if you can write your thoughts about them too.

Washington and Lee I believe is overall a very strong school. If you want frat parties and etc, Washington and Lee is pretty decent with that. I believe Brandeis has the weakest social scene from the universities you've listed, but has probably the strongest academics.

Thanks for the reply Dash, I'm definetely not looking for a party school. The school I'm looking for is the one with the strong academics(primarily) and the one with a satisfying social scene.
So.. which one?=)

Brandeis and Bucknell are very different. Brandeis is a quite liberal school near Boston while Bucknell is a more preppy, more conservative school in a beautiful, yet somewhat remote location in Pennsylvania. Brandeis has no fraternities/sororities while Bucknell has a fairly high percentage. Bucknell has a management major that has been around for a while--I think that it's very well-regarded, but you should check, because they have talked about capping its enrollment. I don't know anything about Brandeis and business, but I think that any program it has would be fairly new. Both schools are very strong academic schools, but I would probably give the edge to Brandeis.

Washington and Lee is a very strong liberal arts school, but it is quite conservative, huge fraternity population (something like 80%) and is known for significant partying. University of Richmond is also fairly conservative, with a heavy fraternity/sorority population.

Brandeis is quite different from the rest of the schools you've been accepted to (it's also about 50% Jewish). It is a very intellectual atmosphere, not that much of a party school, but it's also near a major city with lots of college students. You should think about what kind of social scene you prefer, what kind of location and you should investigate the business program at Brandeis.
