Have you visited both campuses? Did you prefer the city setting or the suburban one? A big school or a smaller one?

I know Brandeis has an amazing creative writing program, and it’s English program is very strong.

If you want a campus, Brandeis is your choice.

If you want to be in the middle of a city without a uniformed campus, NYU is your choice.

D was in the same position 4 years ago. She is now a junior at NYU and very happy with her decision.

HOWEVER, I do think that if she had decided on Brandeis, she would have made the “right” choice, too.

The one thing I would probably look into, though, is internship opportunities in both schools. Being right in the city, D has been able to intern during breaks in her schedule and has built up a great resume. She has gone to a 9 am class, shot over to her internship at 11:00 and has returned to NYU for a 4pm lecture.

Good luck!

Also, since you’re interested in English, here’s an interesting Newsweek article about great professors featuring Brandeis Literature Professor William Flesch:

[Four Great College Professors - Newsweek](<a href=“Four Great College Professors”>Four Great College Professors)

Academically, you really can’t make a mistake–both are fine schools and you can obtain a great education at either.

Culturally, they are very different. NYU is large, urban and has little sense of community. The community is the Village, and if you absolutely live and breath Manhattan–you will love NYU.

Brandeis is small (for a research university), suburban (but only 9 miles from Boston), and is all about community. It will be much more of a traditional college experience.

Frankly, its silly to argue about “which is better.” They are both good–you have to decide which is a better fit for you.

I have to make the same decision lolz

You do?!?!?! Let me know which one you choose and why!
Maybe we’ll end up in the same place…

Brandeis vs NYU

I think it comes down to City School (New York City) vs Suburban – Campus, etc.
