Thank you, this definitely helped me trust my potential decision a bit more
Thank you everyone for dropping by and giving me incredible insights. Iām just curious about your opinion on Brandeis? Am I missing out on a lot? I do love the feel of URochester but maybe itās because I havenāt really got to know Brandeis?
You can only go to one school.
Everyone who gets into more than one school is saying no to the rest.
You have an equal choice here - one will be better than another in some areas and vice versa.
Everyone goes through this - Iām going to UCLA - but boy I love Austin as a town.
You canāt have both - but you can get everything you need and then some at both!!
You said yesterday you preferred Rochester.
So thatās a sensible call.
Life is long. This is a part of the journey. If you miss out on Boston, youāll visit or go later.
PS - Brandeis isnāt Boston and you might not get to Boston as often as you thinkā¦
I get a sense youāre trying to make yourself like Brandeis more because itās in Boston.
Brandeis is a great school too. Iād say they are about equal, all things considered. You can compare them on USNWR (U Roch at #36, Brandies at #44, so not that different) or use Parchment. They have similar freshman retention rates, though U Roch is a little higher.
Use the website Niche and read student reviews about both schools. Go on their social media. Scour their websites. Trust your instincts. Remember that youāre attending college though, not just living somewhere.
Not relevant, but my D, who totally thought she would love Boston, ended up moving out of the city after a very short time. Itās a great city, no doubt, but Rochester has its own advantages. There is actually a lot going on there, so do a bit of research into that as well.
Well first of all, my experience was a long time ago. But I was able to get very high grades, and I doubt that it is any more difficult today. I really loved my time there.
