Breaking Dawn

I preordered it, but it hasn't shipped yet :( Downloaded the first half online though lol
Don't really know why I like those books; they're not very well written, and the characters have no depth...but I do anyway...I wish Bella would just become a vampire and get it over with

I have heard the series is really good, but I have not yet read any of the books.

my mom and i were in target this weekend, and she saw the breaking dawn books, and she just stopped the cart, and picked up the book and read the ending for a few minutes.

i perused the CDs :)

ah i have at least 4 friends OBSESSED with the series, and i've read the first 2/3s of the first...and have read the spoilers for the last

i think it's ridiculous she got away with the BD storyline...i know it's fantasy but you can't break all your rules...her messages are absolutely stupid too

Ok, I have 9 friends on facebook with Breaking Dawn somewhere in their status. And that's just the ones I saw at a glance! Seriously, it's like a cult.

Well, I LOVED it. I was glad that things worked out well for every one.

My friend is so obsessed with Edward that I think it's turning a bit unhealthy.

Twilight was good, albeit fluffly, New Moon should have been my indicator to stop, Eclipse was so-so, and I absolutely loathed Breaking Dawn. I don't think I've hated a book so much since Trickster's Choice or Trickster's Queen--both of which were absolutely horrible.

My apologies.

pfff, the book of the year isn't coming out for a few months...

omg..i love breaking dawn!!!!!!!!! anyone who really reads it will understand why everyone gets obsessed...!!

i loved the ending.it totally wrapped everything up, with jacob and all..and i used to hate jacob, but now i like him..lol..

but yeah..i am sooo excited for twilight the movie to come out!!! it got bumped up to earlier..yay..!!!!!!!!

The Twilight "Saga" is the worst thing I have ever read. In. My. Life.
And I was a regular fanfiction reader for years.

For those of you who don't know: it's about an abusive relationship between the most boring character alive and a mock-Byronic vampire. Written by a Mormon. You may think that sounds funny, and it is. But it is ten thousand times for painful than it is funny.

lookbeyond, that describes it perfectly.

The Twilight series is worse than crappy fanfiction. If had a book burning, it would be right in the bonfire with Ayn Rand, Ann Coulter and ObamaNation. Bleck.

Oh, and lookbeyond--lol at the Mormon comment, when I first saw that the leader of what is essentially a vampire cult went to Brigham Young, I cracked up! I wonder how the people in her other cult feel about her now?

I would substitute Ayn Rand for Bill O'Reilly.

Oh yeah, he's in there too.

Haha, book burning. And I call myself a Democrat.

I don't agree that the books deserve to be burned. Burning the books implies that books were purchased, which means that Stephanie Meyer got money for peddling her garbage.

Instead, the people who enjoy such crap should just be ridiculed until they are able to see the error of their ways.

MelancholyDane, I like the way you think.

applauds MelancholyDane's idea

Started the Twilight Saga in grade 7. Liked Twilight, LOVED New Moon, was okay about Eclipse, reread and realised how stupid I was to have been obsessed with them since they weren't that great, just okay, HATED HATED HATED BD. A pile of dog poo was worth more than that.

I'm ashamed to have even liked those books now. Glorified fanfiction, that's what it is.

I liked the noir-ish feel of the beginning of Twilight, but it just got sappy from there. Breaking Dawn was just...uncomfortable and overdone, but I did enjoy the section on the werewolves - the pack dynamics are kinda interesting.

Twilight was okay. I continued reading, hoping it would get better...but...no...the plots got more boring and the characters became less human.

Do you guys feel left out when most of your friends are squealing about the series? And all you can think of is negative aspects of the "novels." Sigh...but this was before Breaking Dawn came out.
