k.. so I'm make the first step by starting up a convo...

Lets see...I applied and got accecpted into Quinnipiac about a month ago. QU is a great school, had a very nice feel, and the people there seemed really nice.

So lets see breaking the ice a bit....
Has anyone else here applied/ got accecpted into QU? If so r u going? why/ why not? What other schools did u get into? Is QU a saftey/match/reach?
k that should get this thread rolling.....

Quinnipiac was one of the schools my D was considering, but never applied to. I heard it is like a country club. One of the reasons she didn't apply (aside from we never got around to visit) was the ratio of females to males. I also heard it is somewhat easy to get into. Any information anyone has to add I would like to read.

yeah, I'm applying to quinnipiac with a 1210 sat, 3.57 weighted gpa, 150/597 rank. . im going into journalism.. as far as the admissions rate is concerned, they accept 55 percent- that's not too bad I guess.

I applied to Quinnipiac as a safety. I got in in early november. It's a pretty good school. I applied to 3 safety schools (and I got in all of them) and one of them was SUNY Albany. I think, if I end up having to choose form a safety, that I would choose Albany over Quinnipiac. I don't know much about the school, honestly, but I did hear it was beautiful.

Something really cool about them, is that they have rolling admissions, so I got my letter like 3 weeks after I sent in my app.

I also applied to Quinnipiac as a safety school. I just got a letter in the mail today saying I was accepted. It's been the first out of eight schools that i've heard from. I've also applied to Bucknell University, Boston College, Northeastern University, Ithaca College, George Washington University, SUNY Albany and SUNY Binghamton. Hopefully I'll be receiving a similar letter from them.

I don't know... maybe i'll consider going there if i receive a lot of money from them (i'm thinking like the Dean's Scholarship and I don't get accepted or hardly get any money from my other schools. I heard the campus is like a country club, and its a fairly good school. I originally heard about the school while I was researching for PT schools, but since then i've changed my intended major to Business Administration- Marketing or International Business (i'm not quite sure yet).

Somethings about me:
1280 SAT score (670 math, 610 verbal)
3.96 weighted GPA
Ranked 10/121
3 AP's (thats the most offered at my school)
Almost all honor classes
10 Varsity letters (soccer, track, golf)
Student Council
President of NHS
Athletes Against Substance Abuse
VICA New York State Health Knowledge Bowl Champion
Band Vice Preisdent and Section Leader

Just decided to let everyone know that I got my scholarship info in the mail the other day and I received the Dean's Scholarship... valued at $10,000 a year. Guess I'll have to consider the school a little bit more now...

Yeah I got the Dean's Scholarship too. Only 8,000 though. But It would still be cheaper for me to go to Albany, and probably better. But who knows....

I got a $10,000 Dean's Scholarship. Sat- 720V, 620M- 710 Writing, 3.7 uwGPA. According to the information that they publish, they look for top 10-15% and sat 1150 - 1200, with decreasing dollars depending on stats. I am not in the top 10 % of my class as it is a very competitive school that does not weight rank or gpa, and I took all honors and many ap courses. Hope that helps. I was pleased that they considered the strength of my curriculum concerning the top ten %. and hopefully my high verbal/writing scores, as I applied to the communication program. I have never been there, but I have been told that it is a beautiful campus with a decent communication program. Good Luck.

I read on the school's website that if you got a 1250+ on your SAT's, are in the top 10% of your class and have a 3.5+ gpa then you qualify for the Dean's Scholarship. I think it ranges from $6,000-12,000. Hope that helps.

thanks. . I got in yesterday. I applied to Quinnipiac as my safety as well as St.John's University (queens) and the University of Rhode Island. Out of all of my safeties I would say Quinn. would be my hardest to get into. I also applied to Fordham, Northeastern and NYU- Fordham/North. are match-reaches I assume, and NYU is a major reach.
