Breaks during SAT!

Hey, I was just wondering when the breaks were and how long they are during the SAT: I know there is one after the essay for 10 minutes, but what about the rest of the test? Thanks

I am also interested, so please, experienced SAT takers, reply.

Official policy is one 5-10 minute break every hour. It's more typical to receive a break every 3 sections (I took the old style SAT twice, the PSAT once, and the new SAT twice).

That applies to subject tests too- I've taken 4 of those (3 on one day, one by itself), and after each hour, I got 8 minutes (2 more minutes to resume sitting).

Of course, sometimes you'll need to remind the proctor. If you remind them of the "break every hour" policy, they'll usually leap at the opportunity to stop watching you for five seconds. If you're really anxious about getting your breaks, print this and point it out to the proctor.
