The concrete buildings are more grand, but brick buidings give a campus a much more inviting feel. But I'm partial to Gothic style buildings instead of Greco-Roman/Colonial.

Eh, both UCLA and Berkeley are in areas prone to earthquakes, and needless to say, Berkeley was way smarter than UCLA to outfit buildings with concrete than brick...

Gothic architecture, I think, is MUCH more impressive in person. I wasn't blown over by the style until I saw it myself.
I'd take Gothic over concrete and brick, but if I had to choose between the latter two, I'd go with concrete.

This is a non-issue for Cal and UCLA, but in the winter, when it's cold and the snow is all gross and brown, gothic and concrete just looks amazingly depressing. Whereas cute little brick buildings in the snow reminds me of Christmas cards...

Colonial-type brick. Or gothic, but not too over-the-top so that it starts to look like a massive church. The Roman-style ones look like they were built in the wrong country.

Have to be careful with just saying "brick" though, you can build lots of things from bricks. Some modern buildings here and there can be nice if they're done well. What I really hate is seeing buildings that look like they're 60s/70s standard brick high school buildings...very bland, very depressing, and most people go to college to get away from having to enter one every day. ;)
