brief overview of different engineering professions

so I have been looking in the engineering field as a potential major. However, I am sort of confused about the different engineering fields. What is the real difference between chemE, biomedE, and bioE? I looked around the internet, but the information still is hard to understand. Which engineering profession would be perfect for someone that is interested in researching diseases and finding cures through engineering means or someone that wants to apply engineering to improve everyday issues such as energy? Thanks for the help.

PS: which schools (excluding HYPS and very prestigious ones) offer the best of each field?
