Bright Futures Dilemma?

Hey guys! I’m a current undergrad and I had some personal emergencies over this semester that led to me not doing so well in my classes. I was originally taking 16 credits and dropped a 4 credit course early on that I paid back for my Bright Futures scholarship. I thought I’d be able to pull up my grades overall, but I’m definitely going to fail one of my courses. My question is: does an F in a 3 credit course still count towards my 24 credits required for award renewal or do I need to take a summer course to meet the 24 credit requirement? I took 12 credits in Fall 2016.

It will count toward the 12 (and 24)credit hours earned but it does hurt your GPA. Based on the level of your award, you likely need to earn a 3.0 GPA.(For a FAS award, it’s 2.75 for a FMS award).

Worse case, you are eligible for a ONE-TIME ONLY scholarship restoration of this award.

You might need to take a summer class to get the GPA where it needs to be.
