Bright Futures issue

I think my daughter has had an error with Bright Futures. Looking at her statement, it appears that UF used the $300 stipend to pay part of her tuition, and the Bright Futures amount for tuition was somehow less than what it should have been. Has anyone had this happen, is it common?

The $300 gets lumped in with the rest of the BF $, and it goes toward tuition/bills, before any left over is deposited into your daughters account.

Bright futures should pay out about $212.71 per credit hour. Just checked my son’s and that was the rate paid out (plus the $300 for books).

The BF Florida Academic Scholars Award is $212.71 per credit hour.
The BF Florida Medallion Scholars Award is $159.53 per credit hour.
Only Florida Academic Scholars get the $300 stipend.
Sometimes, part of the stipend goes to other fees not covered by Bright Futures or other class costs (like a distance learning fee). Any financial aid, including BF awards, will pay any current charges on the student’s account at ONE.UF first, then any remaining funds will be refunded to the student. Your student can always contact the UF Bursar regarding payments http://www.fa.ufl.edu/departments/bursar/contacts/.

Yeah, I guess 100% isn’t always 100%. My daughter talked to someone, and apparently there are fees for some courses that aren’t part of the 100% of fees covered.
