My son is a sophmore at UF. For Bright Futures purposes, he was in the high school class of 2010.

He is taking 12 hours and thinking of withdrawing from one class this fall, which would leave him with 9 hours.

I think he can take 15 hours in the spring and make up for it, according to the rules, which would give him 24 credits for the two semesters.

However, am I reading the rules correctly in that he cannot make it up in the summer?

The way I am reading the rules, students in the high school classes of 2010 and later can make up GPA deficiencies in the summer semesters to get back in good standing with Bright Futures, but the credit count of 24 hours must be accomplished in the fall and spring semesters.

Am I reading this correctly? Is their any problem with taking 9 hours in the fall if he takes 15 in the spring?

Thanks in advance for any input or advice you have.
