Bright Futures question

Hey there guys, new to the forum so hello!

Anyway, so I am a sophomore at UCF and I believe I have lost my brightfutures because of a failed course this fall semester. I happened to get extremely sick the day before/during the final in the course and it totally caused me to fail. Got A+ on all the other exams in the class so it has to be the fact that I was sick. ANYWAY, how does Brightfutures work? Do they look at your GPA each semester to determine if you are eligible for it? Or do they look at your GPA once a year? Someone told me they check it once a year after the spring term to see if your GPA is still in the eligible range. My GPA was at a 2.78 (College is quite hard for me) before I failed the class so I know it will be lower than the 2.75 requirement.

So could anyone clear this up for me? Will I still receive funding in the spring even though my GPA will be lower than the requirement? I will definitely bring it back up and above the 2.75 during this next spring semester

Thanks so much!

Try talking to the finance office at school. They’ve been through this before.

I’m pretty sure you will get one semester on probation, so even if you are under the gpa, you’ll get a warning before they cut it off.
